Unofficial Picture: 2013 Mini Paceman
Take a look at the Range Rover Evoque's new rival. These images, leaked from the European Patent Office and picked up by a blog site in the US, show how the MINI Paceman will look when it arrives in the UK in 2012.
The car was originally revealed in 'concept' form at January's Detroit Motor Show where BMW board member, Ian Robertson, gave the model the green light for production.
Given that the show car was pretty-much production ready anyway, it'll come as no surprise to learn that the images filed with the Patent Office, and subsequently leaked, reveal a car that looks identical, getting the same sweeping rear roofline and three-door layout, which sets it apart from the Countryman.
Based on that car, it is likely to be built alongside it at the Magna Steyr factory in Graz, Austria, sharing the same engines - including a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol - and platform with four-wheel drive and two-wheel drive options.
Before the Paceman arrives, MINI will launch the hatchback-based Coupe and then a convertible Roadster model in early 2012. For more details click here.
