Renault today officially launched his latest diesel. It's 1.6 dCi engine capable of delivering 130 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque at 1500 revolutions.
Long-awaited moment arrived from Renault. French manufacturer on the market officially launches new 1.6-liter diesel model with scenic family. Forced to a long process of downsizing, the unit is now ready to offer very low values of consumption and emissions.
To guarantee such performance, the unit comes assisted by a start-stop system very useful in urban areas, and a system for recovering energy wasted during braking. DCi engine delivers the same power as its predecessor, the 1.9 dCi, or 130 horses. Torque is 320 Nm and is still felt at 1500 revolutions.
Due to the above changes, the 1.6-liter unit is able to record an average consumption of just 4.5 litres/100 km and an emission rate of 117 g / km. Values are 20% lower than the old 1.9 dCi.
The new engine, expected to begin and the French manufacturer's other models, has the mission to significantly reduce the average emissions French manufacturer. Renault aims to decrease this value below 120 g / km by 2013 and then below 100 g / km in 2016.
