New Infiniti G35

Five months ago, I purchased a brand new Lakeshore Slate (blue) Infiniti G35 Sport Coupe, and it has been by far my most satisfying car purchase to date. The Infiniti G35 is sleek and beautiful, and it performs incredibly. Test driving other coupes with comparable options, I found the Infiniti G35 Sport Coupe to be the best all-around package for my money. The specs and options are quite desirable, but actually owning the Infiniti G35 has proved to be even better than any dealer’s sales pitch could ever describe it.

The Infiniti G35 Sport Coupe is powered by a standard 3.5ltr v-6 engine, with 280 horsepower and generous 270 ft torque. It is equipped with a CVTCS (Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control System), which utilizes an internal computer to continuously tune the opening of the high-flow intake valves to supply the engine with optimal air flow for even, continuous combustion and improved dependability.

Engine performance of the Infiniti G35 Sport Coupe is optimized at all speeds, not just for selective rpm ranges. This makes for an engine that accelerates faster, runs more efficiently and will effectually last longer. The Infiniti G35 also boasts a close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission with short-throw shifter. This makes the shifting so balanced that it is an absolute pleasure to drive.

The new Infiniti G35 Sport Coupe optional navigation system is an advanced computer tracking unit which reroutes the driver to avoid detours and traffic jams. This is indispensable if you live in a metropolitan area like I do. It also sports a retractable 6.5″monitor that informs me of necessary maintenance reminders to keep my car running soundly, and an advanced trip computer with a fuel economy calculator-very cool. I also sprang for the Premium Package, which included a highly gratifying Bose audio system. Eight powerful speakers are precisely tuned to optimize the acoustic potential of the Infiniti G35 Sport Coupe’s unique construction. Controlled by a superior RDS (Radio Data System) which includes an in-dash, six-disc CD auto changer with MP3 compatibility, the Infiniti G35 Sport Coupe is like owning your own private auditorium. An ultimate accessory for road trips, you can insert up to six discs into a single slot for a continuous drive with no juggling cds to keep the tunes going.

Infiniti quotes city gas mileage at approximately 19 mpg for the manual version, (which I have,) and 26 mpg for the highway. I have discovered that my Infiniti G35 Sport Coupe actually gets a little better mileage than that: closer to 22 miles in the city, 28 highway. In addition, the Infiniti G35 Sport Coupe is a certified LEV2. That means, it’s low emissions, so it’s better for the environment.

After all the specs and options, what’s the bottom line on the 2006 Infiniti G35 Sport Coupe?

This is a very sleek, beautiful automobile that will get you noticed. It exemplifies luxury from bumper to bumper. With its buttery soft leather interior, its superior Bose sound system, and its quiet, smooth shifting engine, the Infiniti G35 Coupe literally spoils the driver. The look of this car is old Hollywood meets new millennium. Heads never fail to turn when I’m driving down the road in it. But more importantly, I feel safe in this car and in control of it. That’s because the Infiniti G35 Sport Coupe handles like no other car, so much so that it almost seems to anticipate your hands. Its responsiveness is, in my opinion, unparalleled. The G35 Coupe is not a car you will be taking in for service every two months either (other than routine scheduled maintenance). It’s more than reliable, and will run just as smoothly with 50,000 miles as it did with 50.

After five months of being an Infiniti G35 Sport Coupe owner, I’ll never go back to Lexus. I’ve found my dream car. If you’re shopping for a classy, reliable, but sporty car this year, the Infiniti G35 Sport Coupe is the one to buy. It handles and moves like a more expensive sedan, but it’s sleek and sporty like a midsize coupe should be. Take a test drive today, and see for yourself why the Infiniti G35 Sport Coupe is the best mid-size coupe on the market today. A car can’t make you happy, but getting the luxury you deserve sure doesn’t hurt.

2012 chevrolet corvette C7

If you like Corvettes, this is going to make you smile. Fresh out of bankruptcy court, General Motors announced its two-year product plans for Chevy, Caddy, Buick and GMC. Included are go codes for the new C7 Corvette. The plan is to introduce the C7 in April of 2012 as a 2013 model — a big improvement over the old plan to not reinvent the Corvette until 2014. Let’s just state this up front — almost nothing at all is known about the new Corvette. It appears as if plans for a mid-engine Corvette have been put aside. Like all Corvettes before it, the C7 will feature an engine up front driving the wheels out back. Other than that…

The rumors are that the C7 will be smaller and lighter than the current welterweight C6. There’s talk of using more advanced materials like carbon fiber, aluminum and magnesium as well as smaller engines. Calm down, calm down — as the ZR1 showed us, less displacement doesn’t always mean less power. Especially when a positive-displacement Roots-type supercharger’s in the mix. There’s chatter that the C7′s design might be based on the Stingray Concept from the 2009 Chicago Auto Show, but we’re hoping it’s not. More details as they become available.

2012 Toyota FT-86

Unveiled at the 2009 Tokyo Motor Show and most recently at the 2010 Tokyo Auto Salon, the FT-86 is without a doubt one of the most spectacular looking coupe they have ever created. Co-developed with Subaru, hence the oft-used Toyobaru or even Subayota names, this sporty coupe draws heavily on Toyota's RWD heritage and Subaru's in-house super-tuner, Subaru Technica International, aka STI.

FT is short for “Future Toyota”. If this is an indication of where Toyota wants to go sooner than later then I'm all for it! Everybody knows that the #1 Japanese automaker is in desperate need of excitement. The FT-86 Concept is certainly a step in the right direction.

This new two-door sports coupe will be powered by a Subaru-derived 2.0L flat-four cylinder engine. Here it will generate 200 hp and power the rear wheels. A 6-speed manual transmission and ADVICS brakes will play an integral part in an era where, as Toyota puts it: “the driver plays the main role in order to experience the joy of driving”. For the Auto Salon, Toyota revised much of the car but the front end got much of the attention. More importantly, they added a turbocharger to the engine for more juice.

With the following dimensions (4,160mm long, 1,780mm wide, and 1,230mm high with a wheelbase of 2,570mm), the FT-86 will give its driver a compact and capable feeling. It will be easy for the pilot to handle this car in the city, on a track or at Touge, all the while being able to accommodate four occupants. In addition to being light and having a low centre of gravity and great aerodynamics, the car is damn hot. It should be a hit with the young and the young at heart.

As for pricing, nothing has yet been announced however it is expected that the car will carry an asking price of just over $24,000 US when it comes to market sometime in 2011.

Sports Cars of the Future: 2013 Porsche 918 Spyder

In the biggest surprise of the recent Geneva Motor Show, Porsche pulled the cover off the 918 Spyder, a 2-seat supercar that’s both green and mean. How green? Well, driven accordingly, the 918Spyder gets 78 mpg, says Porsche, with low CO2 emissions. And how mean is it? The 3285-lb. carbon-chassis 918 hits 62 mph in less than 3.2 seconds, says Porsche, and has a top speed of 198 mph. A V-8 with more than 500 bhp is mounted ahead of the rear wheels, augmented by front and rear electric motors that add an extra 218 hp to the mix, fed by a lithium-ion battery pack. With a pure electric mode and a rear-biased race mode, the 918 Spyder really is green and mean, and it has real production possibilities. Don’t believe us?

A prototype recently lapped the Nürburgring in less than 7 minutes 30 seconds (that’s quicker than the hallowed Carrera GT), proving it does more than just look pretty on the show stand.

[Preview] 2011 Lamborghini Sesto Elemento [ picture + Video ]

Lamborghini had unveiled Sesto Elemento Concept at Pris Auto Show. It is an all-wheel drive, all-carbon fiber surpercar. This concept was spotted by French Blog Automobile.

Video Lamborghini Sesto Elemento in detail + interiour Paris 2010

Lamborghini Sesto Elemento concept lifts the design DNA of the Lamborghini brand to a new level, the concept is the only vehicle manufactured in the world to have mastered the complete CFRP process across a range of technologies, from 3D design through simulation, validation, production, and testing. It features a lightweight carbon-fiber structure with the entire front frame, reinforced plastics (CFRP) technology.
Interior, Lamborghini has dispensed completely with the conventional seat frame. The ergonomics are provided by the steering wheel, which can be adjusted for height and reach, it can be electrically adjusted longitudinally. The dominant visual feature throughout is the functional CFRP material on the floor, roof, on the doors and center console.
The Lamborghini Sesto Elemento is powered by a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine, it products 570 hp (419 kW) at 8,000 rpm and 540 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The Lamborghini Sesto Elemento weighs only 999 kilograms (2,202 lb) thanks to extensive use of carbon fiber. 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration of only 2.5 seconds, the top speed over 220 mph.
The Lamborghini Advanced Composite Structures Laboratory (ACSL) at the University of Washington uses experimental tests to define the mechanical behavior of the different materials, with the technologies using methodology from the aviation industry.

In fact, the feedback from these highly skilled, non-professional Client Test Drivers will be compared and supplemented with suggestions from Michael Schumacher, Rubens Barrichello and Ferrari's professional in-house Test Drivers.

Every Client who signs up for the FXX project by purchasing one of the estimated 20 or so cars being built, will actually be joining Team Ferrari, and will have his driving experiences at the wheel of this new car monitored directly by the Prancing Horse's technicians and specialists.

The FXX has not been homologated for road use and thus will not be a competition model. It will be used exclusively on the track as part of a specific ongoing research and development programme featuring this first ever group of Client Test Drivers.

The FXX is powered by an imposing 6,262 cc V12 engine that can punch out over 800 bhp at 8,500 rpm. Its gearbox is the result of the transfer of F1 strategies, delivering gear change times of under 100 ms. This is almost as fast as the F1 single-seaters, themselves the absolute pinnacle of current technological achievement.

After a careful client order selection process, the first FXXs will be delivered by the end of this year. The initial testing of the definitive car is currently taking place at Fiorano. The FXX and the relative package cost a total of 1,500,000 euro (excluding taxes) (approx. $1,790,000) and applications to join the programme are being evaluated by a special in-house committee.
